Are you a big fan of Hatsune Miku well then guess what? Sony has decided to release a Limited-Edition Hatsune Miku range of Walkman products to celebrate the virtual idol’s fifth birthday. Sony will be selling three limited-edition Hatsune Miku 5th Anniversary models of its Walkman S series exclusively in Japan. The three models will include the blue colored player (NW-S764 L), black colored player (NW-S764 B), and blue player with included external speakers (NW-S764 K/L).
The Walkman S products will feature either blue or black with a etched Hatsune Miku on the back.
All the three players are are based on the latest mid-range S series model with special features such as noise-canceling and Bluetooth support. They will also include pre-installed Hatsune Miku wallpapers specially designed for the players along with the song “Hoshi no Kakera” (星のかけら) and also an original neck strap for you music lovers~.
Sony will only be producing 3,939 units of each model. (P.S. the number is a pun on the name “Miku” as it alternatively means the number “39″).
The Limited-Edition Hatsune Miku Walkman units will go on sale exclusively only on Sony’s online shop and in three Sony stores in August. They will sell for about ¥12,800 (approx. US$165) for the player only and ¥15,800 yen (approx. US$203) with the external speakers.
